"Why should some people walk barefoot, so that others can travel in luxurious cars? Why should some live for thirty-five years, so that others can live for seventy years? Why should some be miserably poor, so that others can be hugely rich? I speak on behalf of the children in the world who do not have a piece of bread. I speak on the behalf of the sick who have no medicine, of those whose rights to life and human dignity have been denied."
— Fidel Castro’s message to the UN General Assembly, 1979
No wonder the U.S. government declared him an enemy. He reminded the world that the rich are killing the poor.
Maybe. But if life is so great in Cuba, why have tens of thousands of people risked their lives to get the hell out? Also, why is someone with anarcho- in their name standing up for an authoritarian autocrat?
Lets see, a certain country imposing conomic sanctions might have something to do with Cuba being so destitute. Maybe thats why people flee? I don’t agree with 100% with everything Castro has done. But he stood up to Western imperialism. He came into power after overthrowing a US backed leader who allowed US economic interests to exploit Cuba’s natural resources.
Regardless of ideology I admire anyones courage to call out the United States for its greed and imperialism.
You wanna the real shit about that fucker? Talk to someone from Cuba. That fat fucking slimeball walks around like a God while the people struggle just to eat. They have NO hope of changing their circumstance. The only way to get anything more than what their government gives them is to steal. Whom are they stealing from? The government. What is the penalty? Prison at the least, death is a possibility as well. Don’t EVER praise this FUCK for saying anything against the USA.
